Why not spoil your mum this Mother’s Day with this beautifully-presented fizz. A sparkling Rosé with the elegant red fruit aromas typical of the pink wines from the south of France and perfect for any occasion that calls for celebration. It has a lovely balance of rich and fresh aromas on the nose with apricot, yellow peach, melon and passion fruit, all tied up by a subtle lavender honey note. A great wine for any occasion or celebration.
Faustino VII Rioja Rosé, Spain, was £7, now £5.50, Asda
The Faustino Group, a family company in its fourth generation, has become the unquestionable leader in making and exporting top-of-the-range wines. This is a pale mediterranean Rosé wine that is light, fresh and fruity – the nose is elegant, displaying red fruits such as watermelon, redcurrant and strawberries. Excellent on its own, or with pasta, chicken, fish, curries and even Chinese food. An easy-drinking wine that mum's will love.

Classics Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand, £10, M&S
A silky Savignon Blanc to spark your interest, this white really draws you in with its fragrant bouquet of gooseberries, flash of papaya and hints of herbs. The definition of a polished white, the grassy notes and herbal flavours show range and detail, backed by juicy acidity on the long finish. This style is vibrant with citrus intensity and just a hint of tropical fruit. Zesty and fresh, it's best served lightly chilled as a partner with seafood, seasonal vegetables or with nibbles. A quality wine at a decent price.
