He's not the only Irish contestant audiences can be cheering for. A Netflix spokesperson teased "delighted to share the news that Irish players will be competing to win USD $4.56million  –  all will be revealed when you watch the show."

Squid Game: The Challenge is not the show’s second season. The reality series is inspired by the fictional show, but the Squid Game cast is not part of this production.

Although Squid Game: The Challenge doesn’t have the same life-or-death stakes as the game on the original show, The Challenge has nonetheless received criticism because of the way it was filmed. Many contestants required immediate medical attention after they were left standing in the cold for hours without food.

Squid Game: The Challenge will make its premiere on November 22, when the first five episodes will be released. The next batch of four episodes will be released on November 29, with the final screened on December 6.
