It turns out that President Donald Trump has found some time in between signing executive orders banning people from certain countries from entering the US for a bit of comic relief.
Yes, this is genuinely the news that on Sunday afternoon Trump screened Finding Dory in the White House Family Theatre. Who knew he was such a Pixar fan?
In between foreign leader phone calls today, Pres Trump hosting a movie screening in the Family Theater. WH aide says it's "Finding Dory."

Hey, whenever we’re stressed out we’ve definitely been known to switch on a humorous animated movie.
However, considering the fact that Trump’s most recent actions have sparked widespread protests, people find his decision to watch Finding Dory a bit… odd.
"Mr trump there are mass protests going on rn"
"Idc im watching finding dory"
"But…sir…its getting bad"
"WRONG Just keep swimming OK"

I can't get over Trump making time to watch "Finding Dory" today in the middle of a national crisis he dropped on us like a Friday newsdump.

@markknoller With all HELL BREAKING LOOSE (because of trump) he has time to screen FINDING DORY? Glad he takes his job so seriously (sic)!

Some find his choice of movie strangely appropriate.
Trump's 1st White House screening is Finding Dory, a film about a brightly colored motormouth cartoon w/no attention span.

Not only is it appropriate, but for many it’s acutely ironic considering the movie tells of the fish Dory’s quest to reunite with her parents.
Odd that Trump is watching Finding Dory today, a movie about reuniting with family when he's preventing it in real life.

We’ll be the first to say that Pixar movies are the greatest, but it doesn’t really seem to be the most presidential of choices.
FUN FACT: the first movie that Jimmy Carter screened in the White House was ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN. Trump's first movie: FINDING DORY

Ellen DeGeneres, who voices Dory in the movie, gave her take on Trump’s ban on Twitter.
For me, America is great because of all the people who came here. Not in spite of them. #NoBan

P.S. My grandparents were immigrants. The woman making us pizza right now is Muslim. And I'm grateful for all of them. #NoBan

The world really has changed if even Pixar isn’t safe from politics.
