Imagine this, you’re a parent visiting a shopping mall in Japan and you’d like to entertain your children for a little while so you can enjoy a coffee.
Tempted over by the childish music and bright colours, your children take a seat in front of this cute character.

Well, you can’t knock him (or her, we’re not entirely sure) for a lack of talent – but perhaps heavy metal drumming wasn’t quite what was expected.
Posted by a Japanese Twitter account, the red character, called “Nyango Star”, is something of a rising star in the country – even signing autographs after the performance.

Nyango Star has even been performing with famous Japanese artists, such as Koryuin Sho of “Golden Bomber” – a rock band who have topped the Japanese charts.

It might seem all rather bizarre over here to have a musician becoming famous whilst dressed in the costume of a children’s character – but then, in 2000, Bob the Builder did top the UK Singles Charts with “Can We Fix It”.
And with that, we will let Nyango Star drum out this article – with a piece from their YouTube channel.
Mesmerising.
