Welsh comedian Rob Brydon will rescue a sheep as he returns to his homeland alongside Bear Grylls for a Snowdonian adventure.

ITV’s Bear’s Mission With Rob Brydon shows the pair exploring the North Wales coast where they are forced to climb into a giant sinkhole after a sheep gets stuck.

The Gavin And Stacey star said of the rescue: “That was an experience. He is strong, he can bite and he can kick. Bear assures me he would be stuck here, they don’t get out on their own so we have done him a favour.”

Brydon compared the Welsh adventure to leaving the Cubs after a week as a six-year-old “because it was too tough”.

He added: “I like the outdoors, I used to love building dens and I climbed trees and would make rope swings on trees, that was my big thing.”

Brydon will also reflect on his late emergence into the world of comedy, telling Grylls: “I’m always telling my kids about my failures and embarrassments, that’s a big thing.

“I’m always telling them about the jobs I go up for and don’t get, audiences that don’t particularly take to me. Almost all actors suffer incredible knock-backs… But they have to keep their self belief.

“I took years to break through in comedy. I was 35. I did two shows in 2000, one was called Marion And Geoff and I did another show called Human Remains. They won awards and they got me noticed and then all of a sudden it just changed, it was remarkable, suddenly people were interested.”

:: Bear’s Mission With Rob Brydon is on ITV at 9pm on Friday November 3.
