Singer Liam Gallagher confessed that he “can’t swim” as he sat down to an evening of telly during a celebrity version of Gogglebox.
The charity special of the Channel 4 reality show, in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, saw him evaluate the week’s TV highlights, alongside singer Ed Sheeran, actress Jessica Hynes, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, former England cricketer Freddie Flintoff, and Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.
Working out the measurements of a swimming pool with his mother and son, he admitted that neither of the Gallagher brothers were proficient in the sport.

“Me, Paul and Noel can’t swim,” he said.
“I can do about half a width, but when it gets deep I start flapping about like a mad salmon.
“I even struggle having a shower.”
The celebrity guests joined the regular cast line-up in Friday night’s episode as they tuned in to shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and Nigella Lawson’s cookery show, as well as news items and charity appeals.

Sheeran admitted he would never go to “as much effort” Lawson to cook an egg, while Flintoff compared a strange looking fish on Sir David Attenborough’s new series of Blue Planet to fashion designer Donatella Versace.
