A constant struggle for many in modern life can be trying to find earphones that fit them.
Even though many earphones now come with a range of different sized tips, the process of finding and attaching the correct fit is fiddly and time-consuming.
Now a Japanese start-up called Vie Style has come up with a new solution to the problem – entire earbuds, not just tips, that reshape to fit the wearer’s ear.
The firm has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its Vie Fit, which, rather than making just the tip itself from soft shell silicone but the whole of the bud that comes into contact with the ear.
The result is wireless ear buds to form to fit the ear into which they’re placed and a “gapless fit” that improves comfort and sound quality, so the firm says.
They’re also waterproof and the gapless fit also provides effective noise cancelling, Vie Style says.
The approach has clearly caught the public’s attention, as the Vie Fit have already earned more than $47,000 of its $50,000 funding goal with over a month of its campaign left.
The buds come with a four-and-a-half hour battery life, as well as a charging carry case that can add up to 33 hours of listening time.
According to the Vie Fit Kickstarter page, the ear buds are due to start shipping to backers in March 2018.
