The next HTC flagship smartphone will be unveiled on May 23, the Taiwanese firm has announced.
In a tweet on Thursday, the phone maker confirmed what many had been anticipating, that a successor to last year’s U11 was on the way.

The tag line for this year’s device is “a phone that is more than the sum of its specs”, and HTC will hope that to be true given the competitive nature of the Android-powered market it will enter.
The likes of Samsung, Huawei, Sony and LG have already announced new flagship Android devices in 2018, and OnePlus are due to announce their latest phone in May.
If the image included in the tweet is indeed of some of the key components of the new phone, it also appears the device could feature four cameras – as four separate camera sensors are visible in the photo.
That could be a key way the company looks to make its phone stand out in the crowded Android market.
