The Belfast-based tech firm behind the north’s biggest price comparison website has reported its most successful year to date.

Based at Blackstaff Studios in the city centre, Seopa’ is behind CompareNI.com and Quotezone.co.uk.

Founder and chief executive Greg Wilson said his sites now attract more than four million users each year.

He said the company had experienced “unprecedented growth” over the last 12 months.

The company he set up in 2003 now employs 80 people, with a secondary office in Timișoara, western Romania.

The CEO said the integration of data science techniques throughout key areas of the business had been instrumental at driving the recent growth, from pricing insights through to marketing – enabling Seopa to embrace surging consumer demand, enhancing service and savings for consumers.

“As the insurance industry continues to struggle with escalating premiums, consumers are scouring the market for savings – as they struggle with some of the highest insurance prices in years.

“We’re proud to be able to make a difference to people in these difficult economic times,” said Mr Wilson.

“Our aggregator platforms empower consumers, giving them the tools to compare and find better deals on their insurance products, and deliver real savings of millions of pounds every year to households throughout Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

“We also provide vital support for companies of all sizes and industries – helping them to place business with the customers they need for growth. It’s a win-win solution for consumers and expanding firms.”
