Belfast-based firm DisplayNote, which specialises in wireless casting and conferencing technology has announced a new global collaboration with US interactive whiteboard company Promethean.

The tech firm, which operates out of the Catalyst innovation hub in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter, said its call and app launching solution (Launcher), will be bundled alongside Promethean’s ActivPanel displays to improve communications and create a better meeting room experience.

Based in Seattle, Promethean was acquired by Chinese video game company NetDragon Websoft in 2015.

DisplayNote said its ‘Launcher’ technology is a smart and secure interface for a meeting room display that allows users to view calendars, launch calls, and access content.

It works with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, GoToMeeting, and Google Meet.

The Belfast firm’s chief operating officer, Ed Morgan, said: “Combining one-touch call launching, easy access to apps, and room clean-up features with Promethean’s range of Window-Powered OPS slot PCs, makes meeting rooms more productive, effective, and secure.”

Promethean’s chief product officer, Lance Solomon said the company was “thrilled” to announce the addition of DisplayNote’s Launcher to its portfolio.

“Designed specifically for corporate and higher education environments, its customizable interface and agnostic approach to meeting platforms perfectly complement our existing hardware and software solutions.”
