The hospitality group behind the Wagamama and Barburrito food chains is set to launch a new restaurant at Belfast City Airport.

The Restaurant Group’s concessionary business arm TRG Concessions will open Samson’s Kitchen & Bar in the departures lounge next month.

The new bespoke eatery, which will introduce table service at the airport for the first time, is expected to create 30 new jobs.

Kirsten Pottinger, commercial director at TRG Concessions, said: “After over 30 years of successfully operating quality food and beverage destinations in airports across the UK, we are excited to be adding Northern Ireland to our portfolio for the first time ever.

“Samson’s Kitchen & Bar is a brilliant example of how we create compelling spaces that truly bring a ‘sense of place’ to an airport terminal for passengers heading off on their journeys.

“We look forward to welcoming Belfast City Airport’s passengers as our guests and delighting them with our exceptional service and delicious menu very soon.”

Michael Jackson, head of commercial at Belfast City Airport, added: “From traditional favourites to modern twists, the menu will incorporate locally sourced ingredients and will be themed around the iconic Samson and Goliath cranes – an instantly recognisable staple of Belfast’s landscape.

“With a family friendly atmosphere and elevated menu options, Samson’s Kitchen & Bar truly has something for everyone to enjoy.”
