An Indian crushing and screening company has acquired a major stake in a Co Tyrone engineering firm.
Castlederg-based Omega Crushing and Screening, which specialises in mobile electric systems in the same sector, said the deal will help it expand its global footprint.
Based in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadi, Propel Industries is one of six companies in the AV Group, established in 1962 by Shri A.V.Varadharajan.
Founded in 2019, Omega is currently based at Castlederg Enterprise Park.
The company has previously expressed an interest in developing a new 60,000 sq ft factory at the Invest NI-owned Strabane Business Park.
A proposal of application notice was lodged with planning authorities in 2022, but the company has yet to progress to a full planning application.
