The Irish Government will host a northern business delegation in Dublin on Tuesday evening, with shared prosperity expected to be high on the agenda.

Tánaiste Micheál Martin will host the Trade NI visit to Iveagh House, with around 100 guests from the business and investment community expected to be in attendance.

It comes just one month after the business alliance, made up of Hospitality Ulster, Manufacturing NI and Retail NI, took its message to the heart of the British Government in Westminster, and presented the ‘Northern Ireland Building for Success’ report.

Trade NI said it will head for Dublin with renewed confidence in Northern Ireland as a key investment location, particularly within an all-island proposition.

In a joint message, the leadership of the trade alliance, Stephen Kelly (Manufacturing NI), Glyn Roberts (Retail NI) and Colin Neill (Hospitality Ulster) said: “The Irish Government has played a significant role in supporting the northern economy, most recently through investing in key physical and economic infrastructure such as the A5, Narrow Water Bridge and the new teaching block planned for Ulster University in Derry through its Shared Island funding.

“Its work in helping restore the NI Executive means that we can now place our collective energy and efforts in to securing investment, capitalising on the all-island economy and reminding people that we are one of the most economically exciting places in the world to start and develop a business.

“Trade NI will be drawing together around 100 guests from the business and investment community from right across the island of Ireland and look forward to the engagement with the Tánaiste and colleagues.”

The event at the headquarters of the Department of Foreign Affairs comes less than two weeks after the CBI Northern Ireland and Ibec held an all-island economy conference in Dundalk.
