Lidl’s largest ever store in Northern Ireland will open at Coleraine’s Riverside Retail Park later this month.
The German grocer is relocating from its existing site in the town, where it has been trading since 2005, to a larger site within the retail park.
At 2,514 square metres, it will officially become the largest Lidl store in the north when it opens on February 27.
The supermarket chain said it has increased its Coleraine workforce by eight ahead of the opening, with 30 staff in total preparing for the move.
“We are thrilled to kick off the year with the opening of our largest regional store in Northern Ireland,” said Lidl’s northern boss, Ivan Ryan.
“This new store in Coleraine marks another exciting milestone in our £150 million investment plan for upgrading and expanding our network in the region.”
Former Irish rugby international and Coleraine local Andrew Trimble is set to cut the ribbon in two weeks.
