Fast-growing luxury hot chocolate brand Knoops is set to make its debut on the island of Ireland with a new store opening at Belfast’s Victoria Square.

The new Belfast store, due to open later this year, has been included in a list of openings the company has lined up.

Knoops specialise in a range of barista-prepared hot chocolate, chocolate milkshakes and iced chocolate from a menu of over 20 different strengths and styles of chocolate.

Founded by German Jens Knoop in 2013, the chain now has 20 stores in Britain.

The recent expansion comes after the business raised £8.3m from a November 2023 funding round.

Confirming the new Belfast store, Knoops’ website states: “We’re really looking forward to opening our Belfast store in Victoria Square Shopping Centre.”

The announcement follows a difficult period for the Victoria Square complex following the loss of fashion retailers Tessuti, H&M, River Island and Craghoppers.

Ted Baker’s Victoria Square outlet could also be facing closure in the coming weeks, with the fashion chain’s entire retail network due to be wound down, according to a report by The Sun.
