A tourism start-up launched by three well-known figures in the Irish whiskey scene is preparing to launch the world’s first Irish whiskey cruise.

Barry Chandler, Anthony Sheehy and former Bushmills brand ambassador Lauren McMullan, launched Irish Whiskey Experiences in 2022 in response to the rapid expansion of the Irish spirit industry and growing international interest.

The trio say their mission is to offer guests more than just a taste of Irish whiskey by providing a deep dive into the stories, craftsmanship, people, and places that make Irish whiskey special.

Their ‘Whiskey Bus’ experiences, which involve a seven-day tour of Irish distilleries, have achieved a 100% sell-out rate to date.

Inspired by the success, they have launched their most ambitious venture to date, which will see five-star mega yacht ‘Star Pride’ set sail for the Caribbean in November 2025.

Departing from San Juan in Puerto Rico, the cruise will visit picturesque islands such as St Barts and St Maarten.

Onboard, 70 guests will enjoy seven nights of exclusive whiskey experiences, including tiki-bar takeovers, beachside dinners, and poolside pours with some of the most beloved personalities in the Irish whiskey world.

Confirmed Irish whiskey brands on board include Teeling, Two Stacks, Killowen and JJ Corry, with more to be announced.

Guests can look forward to daily shoreside whiskey experiences, sail-away parties, cocktail receptions, nightly gifts, and other surprises, all meticulously curated to enhance the cruise experience.

“Our goal is to create elevated experiences that deepen the immersion, awareness, and affinity for Irish whiskey,” said Irish Whiskey Experiences co-founder Barry Chandler.

“This cruise is the culmination of our passion and dedication to showcasing Ireland’s liquid gold in the most extraordinary settings.”

Pricing starts at $4,500 per person sharing, with options to pay upfront for a discount, or in nine installments of $500.

The cost includes a luxurious suite, all food, drinks (including whiskey) and whiskey experiences.
