The hospitality firm behind Belfast hotels The Flint and The 1852 have confirmed plans to open a new Italian themed café, beerhall and cocktail bar in the city centre before Christmas.

The Ringland Group is also planning a new pizzeria and bakery as part of the £11.5 million Amelia Hall project on Howard Street.

The major hospitality development, launched last year, is well underway to significantly expand The Flint Hotel with an additional 63 rooms.

Work is also at an advanced stage on the new hospitality offering at street level.

Founded by brothers Peter and Ben Ringland in 2008, the Ringland Group’s portfolio also includes bar-restaurants Town Square and Southside Social.

In total, just group now employs 80 people across its Belfast sites.

The Ringland’s have also confirmed their plans to open a second Flint Hotel in Belfast city centre, with the Cathedral Quarter expected to be the location.

“We believe in the city centre’s potential and are investing heavily here and in the Cathedral Quarter,” said Peter Ringland.

“Belfast has found its feet and has rapidly built a reputation for quality accommodation, food and entertainment as well as an excellent conference city.

“We want to help revive the city’s fortunes and with the collaboration of other like-minded hospitality professionals, are confident that the future is very bright.

“What started as a small Air BnB business has become something bigger than we ever could have imagined. We are delighted to continue our journey in growing the Group with the opening of the unique Amelia Hall later this year.”
