Screwfix is opening two new stores in Northern Ireland as part of its continuing expansion plan.
The hardware and tool supplier is set to open new outlets in Magherafelt and North Belfast within days.
It will bring Screwfix’s retail network in the north to 18.
Founded in 1979, the DIY chain has been owned by B&Q’s parent Kingfisher since 1999.
It can be revealed that Screwfix is actively recruiting staff for a new Mid Ulster store at Magherafelt Commerce Park on the Ballyronan Road.
The retailer is also set to open a new Belfast store at the Hillview Retail Park on January 31.
The Crumlin Road outlet will be Screwfix’s fourth in the city.
The tool retailer will open one day after JD Gyms opens its first Northern Ireland location at Hillview Retail Park.
Part of the JD Sports group, the sportswear company has invested £2 million in expanding its new fitness wing into Belfast.
Screwfix and JD Sports join existing tenants Lidl, Starbucks and Habitat for Humanity at the North Belfast retail site.
