Yellow Door announce closure of Belfast deli after 25 years

One of the north’s best known catering businesses has announced the closure of its Belfast deli after 25 years.

Portadown-based Yellow Door confirmed its Lisburn Road deli will cease trading on Saturday December 23.

The company, which started as a Gilford restaurant in 1992, has grown into one of the north’s most highly regarded catering companies, serving food at some of the most significant corporate events in the business calendar.

The Portadown deli and outside catering business is run by Simon Dougan, while his cousin, Andrew Dougan runs the Belfast deli and runs the catering at Ulster Rugby and Fuelled by Yellow Door at Catalyst.

In a statement posted on social media announcing the closure of the Lisburn Road deli, Yellow Door said: “It is with no lack of emotion that we must inform everyone that nothing lasts for ever.

Confirming that December 23 will the last day of trading on the Lisburn Road, the catering company said: “We are very fortunate that our business in other areas continues to flourish, and all our team will be relocated.

“The last 25 years on the Lisburn Road has been a real privilege.

“We have been blessed with a fabulous team who have shared our lives.

“Our customers have been incredible, and we know there are many who have been with us right from the start.

“Thanks to everyone who has been part of our Lisburn Road journey.”
