A charity providing food support to people in need in Dublin has said it can now help even more families after a cash donation by Taylor Swift.

The US pop superstar donated to the Crosscare charity following her three sold-out performances last month at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.

It was previously reported that a Dublin charity had benefited from a donation of upward of €25,000.

Crosscare received confirmation that they would be a beneficiary on Wednesday from the Shake it Off singer, and said they were the organisation to receive the generous boost although the amount was not confirmed.

The charity provides food hampers for struggling households, and is one of many charities reportedly helped by Swift in locations she is visiting on her Eras Tour.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Crosscare said: “We work with hundreds of families with children who struggle to provide good food every week.

“We provide them with essential food supplies, help them get back on their feet, and help them find a way to support themselves independently in the long term.

“Taylor’s donation will enhance our ability to assist even more families in need in the coming months.”

The charity said that last year it supported over 800 families, and over 1,500 children.

“Demand for our service continues to increase, and with donations from Taylor Swift and our existing supporters, we will be able to solidify this service and expand, if needed, to reach those most in need,” they added.
