Ireland’s Future has confirmed the final line up of speakers for the upcoming Pathway to Change forum this weekend.
Promoted as the biggest conference in the north, the summit will feature a number of high-profile speakers including former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and First Minister Michelle O’Neill.
Founding member of the DUP Wallace Thompson will be taking part in the Protestant Perspective panel discussion alongside Lord John Alderdice, former loyalist politician David Adams and writer and researcher Claire Mitchell.
Other speakers include Author of Making Sense of a United Ireland Prof Brendan O’Leary, Sinn Fein President Mary Lou McDonald, Chair of the BMA Dr Tom Black and President of GAA Jarlath Burns.
Artist and fashion designer Sara O’Neill and musician Bláithín Mhic Cana will be among the panel discussing ‘Arts and culture on a changing island’.
Last week, Alliance leader Naomi Long pulled out of the event citing commitments to the upcoming election. Party MLA Nuala McAllister will take her place in the first political panel discussion alongside People Before Profit MLA Gerry Carroll, Aontu Peadar Tóibín TD, Fine Gael Fergus O’Dowd TD, Workers Party representative Caoimhe Garland and Green Party Senator Mal O’Hara.
Saturday’s event is one of several in recent years attracting thousands of attendees.
A spokesperson for Ireland’s Future said it is imperative that we all engage in the conversation and ensure that society is ready for the change that our island will soon undergo.
The conference will take place in the Belfast SSE on Saturday June 15 at 12pm.
