An investigation is under way after a woman was seriously assaulted in Co Kerry on Thursday morning.
Emergency services and gardai were called to the scene of an ongoing incident at a property on Maine Street in Tralee at approximately 9.30am.
The woman, aged in her 20s, has been taken to University Hospital Kerry to be treated for her injuries.
One man has since been arrested and is currently detained at a Garda station in Kerry.
The scene is currently being examined and investigations are ongoing, gardai said.
