Pedestrian dies after Co Donegal lorry crash

A man has died after a crash involving a lorry in Co Donegal on Friday morning.

The incident took place on the R245 at Magheranan in Letterkenny shortly before 6am.

A pedestrian, aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to the mortuary in University Hospital Letterkenny where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The lorry driver was uninjured, gardai said.

The road is closed and local diversions are in place pending a technical examination of the scene by forensic investigators.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
