A man who died after a tree fell on his car in Co Donegal on Friday morning, has been named as 20-year-old Kacper Dudek.
The fatal road incident happened at Feddyglass, close to Raphoe and around five miles from Strabane.
Mr Dudek, who was the driver of the car, was discovered at around 5.30am on Friday.
The 20-year-old was a past pupil of Holy Cross College in Strabane.
In a message posted on social media, the Co Tyrone school said: “The Holy Cross College community sends our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of our past student, Kacper Dudek who has sadly passed away. May Kacper’s gentle soul rest in peace.”
In tributes, friends and former classmates described their heartbreak and devastation at the tragedy.
“He was the nicest young man and the best friend, we all are so devastated,” said one friend.
“Kacper never failed to make us all smile, was a pleasure to have him in our form class may he rest in peace,” added another.
Gardaí said the body of the deceased man has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in Letterkenny University Hospital, where a post mortem examination is due to take place.
The N14 remained closed on Saturday.
A garda spokesperson said its investigations were continuing with a forensic collision investigators conducting a full examination of the scene on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, efforts are continuing to restore power to tens of thousands of premises across the island on Saturday.
Around 185,000 homes and businesses across the north were still without power on Saturday, as snow and ice added to difficult conditions overnight.
