140,000 tablets seized during Ballymena search

Around 140,000 prescription tablets have been seized by police following the search of a house in Co Antrim.

The tablets were found at the property in Ballymena on Tuesday by officers from the PSNI’s local neighbourhood policing team working in conjunction with the Medicines Regulatory Group.

The search followed postal intercepts at the address.

Various assorted unlicensed medicines were also recovered alongside the quantity of prescription tablets.



A PSNI spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with concerns or information about the supply of drugs in their area is asked to contact police on 101.”
