A 16-year-old boy has been arrested by police investigating drugs activity linked to the East Belfast UVF.

Detectives with the multi-agency Paramilitary Crime Task Force arrested the boy on Wednesday following a search of a property in south Belfast.

He was detained on suspicion of offences including possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply, possession of a Class C controlled drug with intent to supply, possessing criminal property, and transferring criminal property.

The teen remained in police custody on Wednesday evening.

The arrest follows the seizure in east Belfast of suspected Class A drugs with an estimated value of over £100,000, and £30,000 in cash last March, after which two men in their 30s were charged with drug offences.
