AROUND 8,000 customers were still without electricity across Northern Ireland on Friday seven days on from the destructive impact of Storm Éowyn.
An update from NIE Networks that the major repair works have so far restored power to 277,000 properties.
Warning against fraudsters, a spokesperson said: “Be aware of scammers.
“We will not request personal details or send compensation messages.
“Always verify employee IDs and report suspicious activity by calling 03457 643 643.”
Meanwhile, safety hazards caused by the storm continue including in Lisburn, where school children were injured after a bus collided with a tree.

Damage was also caused to the historic 22-mile wall running through the Mourne Mountains, with a timeline on repairs uncertain with new surveys “subject to funding” required.
