A lottery winner from Antrim is looking forward to buying a new house and car after becoming an overnight millionaire last month.

The National Lottery organisers have said the “mystery woman,” known only as Mrs K, won £1,000,000 after matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in the Lotto draw on Wednesday, July 17,

After playing a selection of sentimental numbers on the National Lottery app, she opted to remain anonymous while releasing a few details of how she plans to spend her winnings.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Wow, what fantastic news for Mrs K who has become a millionaire overnight!

“She can now look forward to treating herself to a new car and a new house with her winnings. Huge congratulations!”

She joins the exclusive club of more that 170 new millionaires in Northern Ireland since the competition began in 1994.

Belfast was even named as the second luckiest city in Britain and Northern Ireland last year, with Birmingham at the top with 205 winners and Glasgow at three with 158.

In December, this included a £3.8m win for a Tesco delivery driver from Fermanagh - Jonny Johnston 45) - who was still delivering Christmas turkeys to customers while being completely unaware his winning numbers had come up.
