Arrest made and drugs seized by PSNI in east Belfast

A quantity of suspected Class A drugs was seized together with cash and mobile phones

A man arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drugs criminality linked to the East Belfast UVF, has been charged to court.

Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) seized drugs and other items during a search at a property in east Belfast.

A 29 year old has been charged with possession of a class A controlled drug, possession of a class B controlled drug, possession of a class A controlled drug with intent to supply, and possessing criminal property.

He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on August 19th, 2024.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “As a result of this search, a quantity of suspected Class A drugs, namely cocaine, was seized, together with cash and mobile phones.

“The PCTF is committed to tackling all types of criminality linked to paramilitaries and we assure the public that we will continue to act on the information you provide.
