Arrested man treated for head injuries after brawl outside Belfast pub during the Twelfth

The man in his 30s was assaulted during a fight outside a licensed premises in the Bedford Street area, but was also arrested for disorderly behaviour

A man was treated for head injuries and arrested for disorderly behaviour on Friday after a brawl outside a Belfast city centre pub.

As the Twelfth of July celebrations took place across the city, officers were alerted shortly before 3.45pm that a man had been assaulted during a brawl involving a number of people outside a licensed premises in the Bedford Street area.

“Officers attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries to his head,” a PSNI spokesperson said.



“The man, aged in his 30s was also arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including disorderly behaviour, assault on police and resisting police. He has since been released on bail to be reported to the Public Prosecution Service.”

Anyone in the area who witnessed the fight or has relevant CCTV or other footage has been asked to call police on 101, quoting reference 1198 of July 12.
