A cinema at Belfast’s SSE Arena has been closed due to an “ongoing evacuation procedure” on Thursday.

The Cineworld at the venue in the Queens Quay area of the Titanic Quarter confirmed in a social media post on Thursday afternoon it had shut to customers.

“The cinema is currently closed due to an ongoing evacuation procedure and investigation,” a short statement read.

“If you have booked tickets online you will be refunded within 3 - 5 working days. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will update on when the cinema has reopened!”

The Irish News has approached Cineworld and the SSE Arena for further comment.
