There will be a new two hourly cross border rail timetable in place from Monday, August 26.

The public transport operator said that these changes are to accommodate the new hourly Enterprise Belfast/Dublin services due to be introduced later this year.

Due to the line closure between Lanyon Place and Lisburn to facilitate work at the new Belfast Grand Central Station, the Enterprise service is currently operating from Portadown to Dublin, with Belfast customers transferred by bus between Belfast Lanyon Place and Newry train station.

From Monday, services which are currently operating as a bus substitution between Lanyon Place and Newry will leave Belfast on the hour, every two hours, Monday to Saturday from 6am.

Trains leaving Dublin’s Connolly Station will depart at ten to the hour, with the first train at 6.50am.

When the new Grand Central Station opens, all Enterprise services will operate to and from the new station and will no longer serve Lanyon Place Station.

The current bus substitution arrangements will also continue for cross border passengers until the station opens and the train line reopens between Belfast and Lisburn.

There is currently no indicative date from Translink as to when train services will transfer from Lanyon Place to Grand Central Station, or when the train line between Lisburn and Belfast will reopen.
