Hundreds of mourners gathered wearing bright coloured clothing for the funeral of a Belfast woman described as “one of life’s greatest people”.
A celebration of the life of Trisha (Patricia) Stitt was held at St Patrick’s Church on Donegall Street in the city centre on Wednesday.
The 57 year old died suddenly on August 30, with heartfelt condolences pouring in for the mother of two who was “one of a kind”.
Her pink coffin arrived in a horse drawn carriage dressed in beautiful pink and white flowers.
Friends and family wore bright colours to the service, as the grandmother “didn’t want people to wear black as she was always a very colourful person”.
Others carried framed pictures as they came together to celebrate her life.
Inside, the congregation was told of her infinite generosity: “Trisha’s whole life was about giving to other people, even at the end she was still giving
“Her organs were donated and flown to the UK to give people another chance of having a full life, her generosity saving the life of strangers.”
Two doves were released over her coffin following requiem mass.
The service was followed by cremation at Roselawn Crematorium.
You'll Never be forgotten by any of us Trisha you were definitely the heart and soul of Unity 💙🙏
