Businesses and residents are being asked to check yards, store rooms and other outbuildings as the search continues for a man who has been missing for over a month.

Philip Porter was last seen in the early hours of December 5 on the Lurgan Road in Moira, Co Down.

While the 46-year-old had mentioned going to the Mourne Mountains before his disappearance, Philip’s sister Heather Rosbotham told The Irish News: “The problem is that Philip was last seen in Moira, and we don’t really have anything else to go on.”

She added: “If we had a confirmed sighting somewhere else, that he was definitely seen there, then the investigation would be shifted, but it’s primarily staying in the Moira area for now.”

Detectives investigating Philip’s disappearance issued a fresh appeal for information. He was last seen on the Lurgan Road in Moira at around 2.20am in the early hours of Thursday, December 5, last year.

“We are asking business owners in the Moira area to check their yards, store rooms and premises as well as asking residents to check their sheds, garages and any outbuildings including fixed security cameras which may have recorded the movements of Philip,” a PSNI spokesperson said.

“To any motorists, were you travelling in the Moira and Magheralin areas between 2.15am and 6am on that Thursday, 5th December and did you notice a man matching Philip’s description? Please review any dash-cam footage you may have as this could greatly assist with our enquiries.”

Philip is described as being approximately 5’7 in height, with grey coloured hair and of slim build. He was last seen wearing navy blue trousers, a navy coloured jacket and a green and black checked shirt.

He was wearing a navy hoodie with white toggles under his jacket and black high-top style trainers with beige soles.
