Coleraine rower Hannah Scott clinches Gold with Team GB at Paris Olympics

Team GB took the victory in the women’s quadruple sculls on Wednesday

Hannah Scott is an Olympic gold medallist after Team GB won the women’s quadruple sculls in Paris.

She has become the third athlete from Northern Ireland to win a gold medal in 24 hours at the Olympics.

The Coleraine rower, alongside teammates Georgina Brayshaw, Lola Anderson, and Lauren Henry, edged out the Netherlands by a mere 0.15 seconds to secure gold in a thrilling finish.

Great Britain had been trailing the Dutch throughout most of the race, but Scott and her crew surged ahead in the final 250 meters, finishing with a time of 6:14.31.

This victory marks Northern Ireland’s third gold medal at the games, after Daniel Wiffen and Jack McMillan’s wins in the pool on Tuesday night.
