A Co Armagh community has been left stunned after the death of a father and son in a crash two days after Christmas.
The father and son who died in the crash in Killylea have been named locally as Peter and Loughlin Devlin from the Tynan area of north Armagh.
Four other people, including a baby, were injured in the crash on the Killylea Road at around 12.45pm on Friday, with one woman remaining in a critical condition.
Local parish priest Father Sean Moore told the BBC he had visited some of those who were in hospital following the crash and that it had been a “shock to the community”.
A funeral notice for the father and son said they had died tragically as a result of a road traffic accident.
Their funeral masses will take place in the Church of St Joseph, Tynan, on Wednesday 1 January.
Sarah Duffy, mayor of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, said the local community will come together to support the family in the days ahead.
“We cannot begin to comprehend the depth of their loss, and we stand with them in their grief.”
The Sinn Féin councillor extended her thanks to the emergency services who attended the scene and expressed the importance of road safety.
“As a community, we will come together to support those affected in the very sad times ahead,” she added.
SDLP councillor Thomas O’Hanlon also extended his sympathies.
“It’s just terrible for those involved and we keep those hurt and those mourning in our prayers,” he said.
Emergency services attended the scene of the crash on Friday, with the PSNI continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
Inspector Cherith Adair, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Police received a report shortly before 12:45pm yesterday, Friday 27th December, of a collision involving a dark grey Audi and a black Mercedes.
“Officers attended, alongside our colleagues from partner emergency services. Both men died at the scene. Four others, including a baby, were taken to hospital for medical treatment.
“One of the women sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition at this time.”
