A busy road in Belfast will see delays on Tuesday afternoon after the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene of a car on fire.
The incident happened on the Saintfield Road at around 4pm.
Both the PSNI and the NIFRS are in attendance at the incident, which has led to the force advising to avoid the area.
The PSNI said drivers should seek alternative routes for their journey.
“Motorists are advised to expect delays following a report of a car on fire on the Saintfield Road area of Castlereagh at the junction of Newton Park this afternoon, Tuesday 27th March. Motorists should seek alternative routes for their journey,” the PSNI said.
South Belfast MLA Kate Nicholl praised the work of the fire service, who were able to bring the blaze under control.
“Car on fire on Saintfield Rd just up from my office - amazing response from the @NIFRSOFFICIAL, arrived & had it under control very quickly,” Ms Nicholl posted on X.
