Domino’s, the fast food company, has issued a warning to customers with peanut allergies to dispose of two widely-sold dips as they may contain traces of the product.

The chain, known best for its pizzas, said it has become aware that some of its garlic and herb and honey and mustard dips may have peanut in them.

Those with an allergy to peanuts can suffer a range of reactions, from mild to serious.

Researchers from King’s College London found that introducing peanuts into babies’ diets early achieved long-term prevention of peanut allergy

In a notice sent out to customers across the north and Britain, the company said: “We have become aware that some of our garlic and herb dip and honey and mustard dip may contain traces of peanut. This issue may impact both our 100g ‘big dip’ pots and the smaller, 25g, pots we provide with our pizzas.”

“If you do have a peanut allergy, please dispose of the dips and do not consume them. If you do not have a peanut allergy, no further action is required,” it said.

The company added: “At Domino’s Pizza, the quality of our products and safety of our customers is the highest priority, particularly when it comes to allergens.”
