The social media accounts of DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson appeared to have been deleted, it has emerged.

It’s unclear when and why but, by Friday morning, the 61-year-old Lagan Valley MP’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn pages were no longer able to be found.

The DUP has been contacted for a response on the matter.

In recent days, Sir Jeffrey had released a statement on the accounts to congratulate Simon Harris on becoming the new Fine Gael leader.

In a separate incident last Wednesday, a man was removed from a plane at Heathrow airport following a “verbal altercation” with the the DUP leader.

The DUP declined to comment at the time, but a party source confirmed Sir Jeffrey was the other passenger involved, stating the man removed from the flight had been verbally abusive towards him.
