Speaking to the Irish News at the Shine stage on Wednesday, Event controller Paul Scott said that they are expecting around 70,000 revellers across the two days with one stage accommodating an audience of 25,000.

“There are a number of stages all accommodating around 35,000 people each night. This stage, the Shine stage will look very different on Saturday. Once we have finished with the preparations it will hold around 6,000.

“Out the front of the main stage there’s a viewing area for around 25,000 and the UFO tent can hold up to 5,000. We also have an entertainment marquee that aims to help local DJs get their first step onto the industry ladder. Hopefully soon the guys appearing there, will be appearing on the other stages in the coming years.”

He also asked those attending to drink sensibly to ensure everyone has a night to remember.

“This year’s site has 108 metres of bar, so people won’t be thirsty. However, while you can enjoy a few drinks it’s important not to go overboard.

“If you drink too much you’re only causing a nuisance to those around you and the staff here and we want people to have a good time.”

Paul added that there will be over 400 toilets 100 urinals and enough generators to power a small village for the weekend.
