Emergency services have been called to the scene of a serious incident in west Belfast on Monday afternoon.

The incident is ongoing in New Barnsley Park in the Ballymurphy area of the city.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said it received a report of a fire at the house at 3.24pm on Monday.

“Firefighters are currently at the scene of an incident in New Barnsley, Belfast.

“Two fire appliances from Springfield, one fire appliance from Cadogan Fire Station and one fire appliance from Westland are in attendance.

“Firefighters received a call at 3.24pm and the incident is on-going.”

A PSNI spokesperson said on Monday evening: “Police, alongside colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service, are currently at the scene following a report of a fire at the New Barnsley Park area of West Belfast.

“Officers remain at the scene and there are no further details at this time.”
