Festival of Fools: Action-packed programme of circus, parkour and dance announced for Belfast

Ireland’s largest free street performance festival returns to Belfast from Saturday to Thursday.

CIRCUS performers from around the world are set to delight families in Belfast once again with the return of Festival of Fools.

Ireland’s largest free street performance festival will take place from Saturday, May 4, to Thursday, May 9.

The 2024 programme will include three days of daytime entertainment at various indoor and outdoor locations across the city centre including circus, parkour, dance, archery and visual arts.

The best local circus and street performers will be joined by award-winning talent from Canada, Italy, Argentina, Germany, France, Spain and Australia.

The 2 Royal Avenue building will act as a central hub for performances by young people and emerging artists as well as hosting drop-in workshops.

On Saturday and Sunday, Sara Twister will deliver “a crowd-stopping phenomenon” by firing a bow and arrow with her feet while balancing on her arms.

JUMPNI promise thrills and spills with some extreme parkour while “classic aerial antics” on display will include juggling, acrobatics, custard pie fights and more.
