Four arrested as man hospitalised following ‘serious assault’ in Ballymena

A man in his 50′s suffered “deep lacerations” to his cheeks and has been left with a suspected broken leg after being assaulted by a number of men in Ballymena.

Four men have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and are currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.

Police were alerted to the incident at around 10pm on Friday night in the Larne Road area of the town, where they made a number of enquiries before arresting the four men after searching flats nearby.

The injured man remains in hospital after receiving treatment for his injuries.

Police are asking for anyone with any information about the incident to contact detectives at Ballymena by ringing 101 and quoting reference 1750 06/09/24.
