Four men in police custody after suspected knife attack in north Belfast

Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, two patients were taken to Royal Victoria Hospital

Four men arrested at a flat in north Belfast, following a fight in which weapons may have been used, are currently in police custody.

Two men were injured in what is believed to have been a knife incident, in the Cliftonville Road area, on Saturday night.

Emergency services tasked to the scene around 6pm.

A PSNI spokesperson said an investigation into the incident was underway.

They added: “Around 5.50pm, it was reported that a fight was ongoing in a flat in the Cliftonville Road area. Weapons may have been used in the assault.

“Two men were injured and were taken to hospital for treatment.



“Four men - two aged 26 and two aged 34 - were arrested and remain in police custody at this time.”

A NI Ambulance Service (NIAS) spokesperson said NIAS had received a 999 call at 6.06pm, following reports of an incident in the Cliftonville Road area of Belfast.

They added: “NIAS despatched two rapid response paramedics, one advanced paramedic and two emergency crews to the incident.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, two patients were taken to RVH.”
