Four people were rescued from a burning house by police officers on Monday evening.
The fire broke out at a house on Cunninghams Lane in Dungannon.
Three fire appliances, two from Dungannon and one from Pomeroy, were deployed to the scene.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said its crews were mobilised after the report of the house fire.
“On arrival, crews discovered that four persons had been led to safety from the property by our colleagues in the PSNI,” a NIFRS spokesperson said.
“Crews wearing breathing apparatus and using firefighting jets, extinguished a fire at the property and rendered first aid.”
Four persons were left in the care of NIAS. Several police officers were also treated for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
The PSNI said late on Monday that police and fire crews remained at the scene.
“Several officers have been treated for smoke inhalation,” police said.
“The road was closed but has now reopened.”
Local Councillor Malachy Quinn said there was “concerning news and images coming from Dungannon”.
“Police are at the scene along with the Fire Service, people should avoid the area if they can,” he added.
Diane Armstrong, MLA for the area, added that she was “aware of a serious incident ongoing on Cunninghams Lane with PSNI and NI Fire Service on site”.
“I’m liaising with PSNI to ascertain the current situation,” Ms Armstrong said.
