Gang targets ‘wrong address’ leaving Enniskillen resident badly shaken

A Co Fermanagh resident has been left “badly shaken” after a gang armed with hammers broke into the wrong house.

Police said five men broke through the front door of a house in Kilmacormick Avenue in Enniskillen in the early hours of Tuesday.

A PSNI spokesperson said the assailants confronted the resident before realising they had entered the “wrong address”.

“At approximately 2.20 am, we received a report that five men wearing hoods and armed with hammers had entered a house in Kilmacormick Avenue,” he said.

“The men broke through the front door of the property and confronted the occupant before realising they had entered the wrong address.

“They then quickly made off in a red-coloured Mercedes C Class in the direction of the Cornagrade Road.

“Luckily, the resident was uninjured; however, they have been left badly shaken by their ordeal.



“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with our enquiries to contact detectives on 101.”
