Stars of the upcoming How to Train Your Dragon movie have taken a break from filming to try their hand at pizza making at a Belfast restaurant.

Cast members of the live action remake of the 2010 animated film stretched dough and selected toppings at the workshop at Flout! in east Belfast on Sunday.

The film, directed by Dean DeBlois and based on the children’s books by Cressida Cowell, is currently filming in Belfast’s Titanic Studios and is scheduled for cinema release in June 2025.

Cast members Julian Dennison from New Zealand, Oxford-born Harry Trevaldwyn, Yorkshire’s Bronwyn James, Dumbo star Nico Parker, US actor Mason Thames and English screen newcomer Gabriel Howell arrived at Flout! on Sunday and learned tricks of the pizza trade from owner Peter Thompson and staff.

In an Instagram post after the session, Mr Thompson said the stars “nailed it”.

It’s not the first time stars from the upcoming movie have enjoyed a day at the popular restaurant, as Julian Dennison joined co-stars Gabriel Howell and Nick Frost in a visit last month.

Frost, who appeared of 2004 hit comedy Shaun of the Dead, said on Instagram what he had was “some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten”.

How to Train Your Dragon also stars Scottish actor Gerard Butler who is reprising his role of viking leader Stoick, the character he voiced in the original Dreamworks animated film.
