Annual parade brought families out to enjoy colourful spectacle
Hundreds have lined the streets of west Belfast for the annual Féile an Phobail flagship Carnival Parade.
The event is one of the highlights of the annual west Belfast festival, with participants parading in colourful costumes from Dunville Park to Spórtlann na hÉireann at Falls Road.
The theme for this year’s Carnival Parade was ‘Our Children, Their Rights’, highlighting children denied rights in conflicts across the world, including in Palestine.
The parade is the culmination of months of work by organisers and participants.
The Féile, which is the largest community festival in Ireland, runs until August 11 with a full programme of events including workshops, exhibitions, panel discussions, and concerts.
