RESCUE workers from Northern Ireland are entering their third day of intensive searching in Alicante for missing Belfast man John George.
Seven members of K9 Search & Rescue NI along with a sniffer dog travelled to Spain this week to assist family and friends in the search.
On Thursday, the group had been searching a specific area after a tip off to the family.
Posting online, a spokesperson added: “Our search team, along with Evolsar colleagues from SAR Team, have so far covered large areas of interest with K9’s, drones and Search and Rescue Technicians, and will continue again (on Friday) at first light, and over the coming days.”

On Friday, Mr George’s case (who is also known as John Hardy) was still not being treated as a murder investigation by Spanish police.
A Guardia Civil spokesperson told the Irish News: “The Civil Guard of Alicante, on December 21, learned of the disappearance of a 37-year-old Irish man, named John Hardy.
“Since then, all the agents have been carrying out location work, but they have not been able to provide more information so far.”
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old woman from Northern Ireland alleged to have been in John George’s company in Spain before his disappearance says she has received “over 30 death threats” and that she has told his family all the information she knows.
Mr George’s family believe he was lured to his death in Spain, with his father Billy also claiming to have confronted the man he believed responsible.
