‘Large void’ closes Donegall Road in Belfast

Motorists have been advised of road and lane closures next week when a £500,000 major maintenance scheme begins on the M2 at Bellevue Bridge on Monday.
The road is down to one lane in each direction as it approaches the junction.

A ‘large void’ has been discovered under the road surface on the Donegall Road.

The Donegall Road is closed at its junction with Falls Road, near Aldo’s Fish & Chip Shop, after the discovery by NI Water while investigating a damaged sewer.

The closure is expected to last for several days and result in traffic delays.

The primary bus service on the road is set to operate via Broadway due to the road closure.

Trafficwatch NI advised motorists to take some extra time to get there, especially if travelling during rush hour.
